The Studio view of DJ.Studio#

The Studio View is where your DJ mix truly comes to life : the main creative control center where you mix tracks, shape transitions, edit beatgrids and enhance your mix with effects, samples and visuals.

The Studio view looks different for DJ mix projects and for Mashup projects.

Studio view - DJ Mix#

The DJ.Studio’s Studio View mirrors a real DJ setup, with:

  • Alternating Deck 1 and Deck 2 for DJ-style mixing
  • Sample lanes for sound effects, IDs and creative layering
  • The tempo lane to visualize BPM changes throughout your mix

At the bottom of the screen you see the following tabs:

  • Zoom & Playlist : for navigation and arrangement
  • Track : for key, BPM and advanced beat grid control
  • Video : for mixing music videos or generating beat-synced visuals
  • Effects : for EQ, filters, compression and third-party VST plugins
  • Master : for balancing loudness and mastering your final mix
  • Samples : for sound effects, radio IDs and DJ drops

The Studio View is where preparation turns into performance.

Studio view - Mashup#

In Mashup mode:

  • You can use the whole canvas.
  • There is no playlist; the canvas is one huge track.
  • You have 1 master lane, instead of 2. That 1 Master lane dictates the tempo. The tempo lane will reflect the tempo of any track or sample placed in here.
  • You have 4 sample lanes, no voice-over lane.
  • There are no transition windows between tracks. You can freely add tracks and drag them around.
  • Samples are not linked to any track, so if you drag the track in the master lane, the samples that were below that track will not move with it.
  • You can only export to audio or video, not to playlist or any other platforms.
  • Mashups cannot be side-loaded into DJ mixes. If you want to use the mashup in a DJ mix, you need to export your mashup as an audio file and then upload it as a new track in your DJ mix project.
  • Automixing is not available in Mashup mode. If you wish to use automixing, you must switch to a DJ mix project.
