Do not take an unmodified production session on stage simply because it plays successfully once in the studio. Keep a documented plug-in set for active projects. Avoid operating-system, driver, DAW, firmware, or plug-in updates immediately before a deadline or show unless the update fixes a blocking issue and the complete workflow can be retested. Preserve installers and working project versions where licensing permits.

Protect the Project and Media

Use versioned project files, keep source audio separate from temporary caches, and maintain at least one independent backup. For long recordings, verify available disk space and record a local safety copy when the setup supports it. A stable playback engine does not protect against missing files, accidental overwrites, or storage failure.
