We're beyond excited to share what we've been up to over the last few months and give you a sneak peek into the awesome things we have planned for this year.
We’ll be celebrating our second birthday later this year, so it’s super exciting to reflect on the progress we’ve made and look forward to a bright future.

Major Product Update - DJ.Studio v3.0#
We are excited to share some news and thoughts about our latest massive update to the software - DJ.Studio v3.0!
DJ.Studio 3.0 has officially landed, and it’s a game-changer! This major update brings a host of new features, significant improvements, and essential fixes that elevate your DJing experience to the next level.
Whether you're DJ.Studio veteran, or just getting started, here's everything you need to know about what’s new in v3.0:
Enhanced Beat Grid System#
Say goodbye to beat detection woes! With DJ.Studio 3.0, we've completely revamped our beat grid system to support any genre of music. Whether you're mixing steady-tempo EDM, intricate jazz rhythms, or wonky worldwide rhythms, our AI-driven beat grid adapts seamlessly to keep your mixes tight and synchronized.
This new beat grid system comes with 3 modes, to suit different styles of music:
Auto Mode: Let DJ.Studio decide the best beat grid method for your track. Perfect for those who want hassle-free precision.
Fixed Beatgrid: Ideal for tracks with a consistent tempo. The beat grid remains static, ensuring stability during your seamless transitions.
AI Beatgrid: Perfect for tracks with tempo changes, intros, outros, or breaks. It smooths out these sections for flawless transitions without unexpected fluctuations.
We’ve even introduced a flexible AI beatgrid mode:
AI Flex Beatgrid: For the ultimate precision, AI Flex follows tempo changes even in dynamic sections like breaks, making it perfect for creating mashups or layering drum samples while preserving natural tempo variations.
Harmonize: Formerly Automix#
We've rebranded our ‘Automix’ feature to ‘Harmonize’ to better reflect its capabilities. Harmonize organizes your playlist harmonically using the Camelot Wheel, ensuring smooth transitions based on musical key and BPM.
Harmonize V2: Take it up a notch with AI-powered playlist ordering. Harmonize V2 quickly finds the best order for your tracks, delivering fresh and exciting playlist arrangements every time you hit the button. Not thrilled with the first result? Simply Harmonize again for a new mix!
Sneak peek: Phrase Detection (Coming Soon): Our team is developing a groundbreaking phrase detection algorithm that identifies song structures - verses, buildups, choruses - and determines optimal transition points. This will enable features like automatic song shortening during harmonizing.
Revamped FX Pack & FX Workflow#
Unleash your creativity with our completely renewed FX Pack! This update includes over 30 new effects that add energy, width, clarity, and creativity to your mixes.
Layer Multiple Effects: Combine multiple effects simultaneously to create rich and complex soundscapes.
Save FX Blocks as Presets: Right-click on an FX block to save it as a preset and apply it instantly to other tracks with a single click.
Custom FX Workflow: Experiment and record effects automation live or manually draw automation points for precise control.
FX Integration in Transitions: One of the exciting new things is that you can now add effects seamlessly to your transitions for smoother and more creative crossovers.

Loopcloud Integration#
Partnering with our friends at Loopcloud, DJ.Studio 3.0 offers seamless integration with the Loopcloud sample library.
Loopcloud Sample Pack: Access a fantastic collection of free samples provided by Loopcloud, directly from the DJ.Studio sample tab.
Loopcloud Sounds Plugin: With an active Loopcloud subscription and the Desktop App installed, you can drag and drop Loopcloud’s vast array of sounds into DJ.Studio instantly.
Exclusive Free Trial: New DJ.Studio users can benefit from an exclusive 2-month free trial of Loopcloud, giving you access to endless creative possibilities.

Improved User Interface & Experience#
We've listened to your feedback and made several user interface enhancements to make DJ.Studio even more intuitive and enjoyable to use.
Better Support Access: Easily access support, documentation, and release notes directly from the DJ.Studio header or while you're in your mix by clicking the ? icon.
Enhanced Video Panel: A cleaner layout and rearranged settings make managing your video exports smoother.
Custom Metronome Volume: Set the volume of the metronome directly from the Studio view for better control during your practice sessions.
Track Details Enhancements: Clickable track titles in your mix now open detailed menus for quick access to track details, repitching, or removal.
Bug Fixes & Performance Enhancements#
And of course, even after the DJ.Studio 3.0 release, the DJ.Studio has been working relentlessly to provide you with valuable updates
New VU Meter - To give you a more accurate display of your output volume levels
Video Export Enhancements: Stabilized MP4 exports, improved synchronization with Shadertoys, and added support for custom logo overlays to personalize your videos.
Rekordbox Integration: Enhanced file path retrieval ensures your tracks are always found, improved the cue point and phrase detecion.
General Fixes: Resolved various issues like sample automation not saving, undo removing samples from the library, and numerous small bugs reported by our awesome community.

Our Highlights in 2024!#
What a great year - here are some of the biggest highlights from 2024…
Mashup contest - The Armada Mashup contest was a blast. We listened to hundreds of your mixes, and gave out thousands of dollars in prizes!

Masterclasses - DJ.Studio has been learned and shared by some of the biggest names in DJing and DJ education. A highlight was a DJ.Studio masterclass from Armin Van Buren at Amsterdam Dance Event 2024, and our Cratehackers livestreams.

Conventions and Events - The DJ.Studio team has been traveling around the world to attend events and host booths at conventions. In 2024 we were at the International Music Summit (IMS) in Ibiza, the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), the Audio Developer Conference (ADC)in Bristol UK, and the DJX Conference in Atlantic City!
